CEDAR PARK—The Lago Vista Associates were able to see the fruits of their hard labor during a special tour and lunch Dec. 3 by the Seton Williamson Foundation.
LVA members toured the Seton Medical Center Williamson emergency room and the telemedical video device that they purchased for the medical center. The device allows the hospital to send medical information, videos and photos to other hospitals in the area.
“It saves time,” Charley Scarborough of the Seton Williamson Foundation said. “When you’re talking about trauma and injuries, it saves lives. We just keep on finding new uses for it.”
The hospital used the telemedical video device recently to determine if a patient needed to be moved to an Austin Seton hospital in order to be treated properly for an injury. Scarborough said the virtual consultation saved valuable time and resources.
