JoAnn “Jodie” Weatherly, of Lago Vista, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at the age of 80. She was born on April 28, 1930, in Palacios, Texas, to parents John and Muriel (Green) Fox, who raised her there.
Jodie was very involved in the community as a member of the Lago Vista Artist’s Association, Lago Vista Women’s Golf Association, as well as the Rolling Hills Community Church where she also volunteered. She was a former member of the Lago Vista Garden Club and the Lago Vista WGA 9-Holers. Jodie also was a great supporter of the Lago Vista Public Library.
Mrs. Weatherly is survived by her daughters Carol Ann Lilly of Lago Vista, Susan Lee Hemphill and husband Danny of Hamilton, and Wanda Lou Montelongo and husband Ismael of Houston; Grandchildren  Matthew Lane Hemphill and wife Laurie, Anna Lee Hemphill, Samuel Lenon Hemphill, Megan Lee Montelongo, Michael Lane Montelongo, and Claire Louise Lilly; and great granddaughter Emily Ann Hemphill. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert Lane Weatherly.
Visitation was held on Sunday at Beck Funeral Home, Cedar Park. A funeral service was presided over by The Rev. Gary Olsen Tuesday at the Rolling Hills Community Church in Lago Vista. Interment took place Wednesday at Memory Garden Cemetery, Highway 87 in Victoria, Texas.
